Frequently askedquestions about NutriPal
Answers about the platform — from AI and meal plans to client files, progress, and data security.

General & getting started
What is NutriPal and what problems does it solve?
NutriPal is an all-in-one platform for professional dietitians. Clients, appointments, meal plans, files, measurements, recipes, and an AI assistant — all in one environment, instead of scattered tools and spreadsheets.
Who is it for?
For professional dietitians and nutritionists who want an organized daily workflow, clear collaboration with clients, and support from modern tools — without replacing their clinical judgment. Multiple roles are supported (dietitian, client, superadmin).
Do I need technical skills?
No. You access it from a browser (desktop, tablet, mobile) with no software installation. The workflow is designed for everyday clinical use, not for technical users.
How quickly can I get started?
In minutes: create an account, add your first client, and begin. If you already have plans in files, you can import them so you don't start from zero.
Can I see a demo before deciding?
Yes. You can book a free demo to see how the platform works in practice, with real use cases.
AI assistant & automation
What exactly can the AI assistant do?
It answers general nutrition questions and questions personalized to the client's profile (health, habits, plans, progress). It can create or update a meal plan based on the client's data and your instructions, generate a shopping list, comment scientifically on measurements and progress, and provide a pre-appointment review with suggested actions.
Does it replace the dietitian?
No. The AI assistant proposes, summarizes, and speeds up tasks. You approve every change — clinical judgment and responsibility toward the client always remain yours.
How do I create or update a plan with AI?
You give instructions via chat; the assistant uses the client's stored data and creates or modifies the plan. You review, make final changes (manually or with new instructions), and publish. It also works on plan templates without a client.
What is Import Document?
You upload a third-party meal plan (e.g. PDF or document) and the AI automatically recognizes its structure, integrating it into your workflow without manual copy-paste.
Can it analyze measurements and progress?
Yes. It offers scientific commentary on measurements, trends, adherence, and progress, with suggested corrective moves — always under your control. Voice transcription is also supported for quick notes.
Meal plans, recipes & PDF
How much freedom do I have in plan structure?
Full freedom. You create weekly plans, choice lists, or menus with your own section and meal names. You can start from scratch, from a previous appointment, from a template, or via AI.
What are plan templates?
Reusable plan "skeletons" — General or Weekly. The system includes default templates and you can create as many of your own as you like, applying them to any client.
How do recipes and foods work?
You build your own library of recipes (ingredients, steps, macros, meal type, difficulty) and foods you use often — and reuse them in every plan without recreating them.
You also have access to external scientific food sources — Trichopoulos, USDA, and Equivalents — so you can search and import foods directly into the plan, with ready-made macros.
Can I print PDFs with my brand?
Yes. You set logo, colors, and footer, see a live preview at every editing stage, and deliver a PDF that carries exclusively your brand.
You can export meal plans, recipes, shopping lists, and progress charts to PDF — everything your client needs, ready in one click.
Can I generate a shopping list from a plan?
Yes. The AI generates a shopping list from the active plan, which you can also export as a PDF.
Clients, files & progress
How is each client's folder organized?
Each client has a central workspace with tabs: Overview (AI recap + suggested actions), Plan, Measurements & progress, Profile, Files, Appointments, and Questionnaires.
How does file sharing work?
There is a shared file space with categories: Diets, Measurements, Other, and Client uploads. You have full control; the client can upload files and delete only their own. Filtering by date/name and email notification for new files or plans are supported.
What does the client see in their portal?
Published meal plans, progress charts, the dietitian's recipes, their own files, and assigned questionnaires — in a clean environment with limited permissions.
How do progress and charts work?
You enter measurements manually or import CSV from a body composition device. Charts cover 5 categories: Basic measurements, Body composition, Segmental muscle mass, Muscle quality, and Segmental fat. The AI can analyze trends and suggest adjustments.
What questionnaires are available?
8+ structured questionnaires: Personal details, Medical history, Health status, Lifestyle, Physical activity, Eating habits, Eating behavior, and Nutrition beliefs.
The client completes them via an email link, without needing an app account. Alternatively, you as the dietitian can fill them in directly during the appointment. Answers appear automatically in the client's workspace.
Office organization & tools
How do I manage appointments?
You create appointments with a session framework (goals, exercise, emotional state, special events, notes). On the dashboard you see today's appointments and, if you want, connect Google Calendar for automatic sync.
Are there to-dos?
Yes. You create to-dos with an optional client link. Open to-dos appear on the dashboard for quick access each morning.
When you open a client profile, a reminder popup automatically shows incomplete to-dos for that client — so you don't forget anything before or during the appointment.
What scientific calculators are included?
10 tools: BMI, IBW (Devine), WHR, BMR & daily calories (Schofield, Mifflin, Harris-Benedict + PAL + TEF), Pediatric energy requirements (0–18 years), Daily water requirements, TyG index, HOMA-IR, eGFR CKD-EPI, and Framingham CVD risk.
Does it connect to Google Calendar?
Yes. Connect via OAuth, disconnect anytime, and automatic sync per appointment to your calendar.
Security, data & support
How is data protected?
Modern security practices are applied and access is limited through roles (Dietitian, Client, Superadmin). Only people you authorize see the data.
Is it GDPR compliant?
The platform is designed with GDPR awareness and responsible handling of personal data at every stage.
Can I export my data?
Yes. File download, measurement CSV export, and PDF printing of plans and recipes are supported — you're not locked in without access to your own data.
What support is provided?
Technical support and usage guidance at every stage. For every new customer we offer personal onboarding, where we explain in detail how to use the platform in your daily practice.
Purchasers also get access to exclusive in-platform content: training videos covering all features and example prompts — ideal reference material at any time.
NutriPal Network
What is NutriPal Network?
An extra free listing we give you through our site. You can showcase your profile — contact details, bio, office, services. Prospective clients get to know you before they choose you, without you chasing other channels; in short, you get free, additional exposure.
How does someone find me through NutriPal Network?
They can search by location and see which dietitian is near them or best fits their needs. On your profile they'll find everything they need to know before booking — and you gain an extra channel to grow your practice.
Why do we say it has a "double" benefit for you?
Whether someone sees you first on NutriPal and discovers you through our site, or searches generally for a dietitian and sees you as another steady result next to their search. In practice you get extra visibility without changing how you already work inside the app.
Pricing & packages
What is included in my NutriPal investment?
You get access to the complete NutriPal package made up of 4 integrated solutions:
- the dietitian portal (daily work — clients, plans, appointments, AI in one place)
- the client portal (clear collaboration, files, and progress without extra tools)
- the mobile app (for you and your clients)
- NutriPal Network (public profile and another way to be found)
On top of all that, you get lifetime access to the platform and all future software updates we ship — and we plan to ship many.
What exactly is the one-time purchase?
It's a single investment that locks in access to the full NutriPal environment described above; it does not repeat every month. From there, you choose the monthly package that matches the AI usage you want during the month.
What are the monthly packages?
They are the NutriPal credit tiers (Starter, Pro, Unlimited) that define how much you can use AI features during the month.
All tiers offer exactly the same capabilities; the only difference is how intensively you use them (credit quantity / usage limit).
The monthly subscription covers what's needed to run the app; credits keep transparent tracking per action, so you can see clearly where your usage goes.
If NutriPal helps you serve even one client better, your monthly package is essentially free.
Can I change my monthly package?
Yes — anytime. You can move between tiers (Starter / Pro / Unlimited) when you need to: more AI and workload, go up; a quieter month, go down.
